Although I hope Amir and Hassan are brothers or just friends very much during I was reading the story. But it is to hard to find out much clear points to support this.I have to acknowledge that Amir and Hassan are more like servant and master much than the others.
"He always knew when to say the right thing." This is the content on the page 37, this is the typical thought of a master to a servant. And this also can not be the thought between brothers or even friends. And then, Hassan went to look for the blue kite after they won the Kite-fighting tournament, "Come back with it."(page67) Just these words to Hassan, Amir faced to all the honour and all these congratulatory words by himself. And he didn't felt what's not right, even without alittle Humiliated or ashamed. He treat anything Hassan done for him just as Hassan's compulsory.
At last, the last paragraph of the section seven. "It happened just the way I'd imagined" By a different angle for this, Amir made use of Hassan for what he had imagined.
By the way, I really do want Amir and Hassan are brothers. But "Kite runner" is not a fairy tale, what I hope can only be what I hope. And the most important part of the chapter seven is the things happend on Hassan which I do not want talked about it. It really made me feel bad...

Fan yan, well i agree with you that Amir used Hassan for his own good. However, I don't think you are clear on whether their relationship is a master-servant or a brotherly one ?
ReplyDeleteYou told lots of explain about how Hassan treated Amir, and I agree with your opinion that Hassan looked Amir as his master. But maybe you did not say what Amir's emotion was.
