I agree with the statement Amir said. I think it’s fair for both, for Amir and Assef to get what they deserved, we can see when Amir's said "we both got what we deserved".
Assef was a bad friend for Amir and Hassan because he used to intimidate Amir and Hassan. And now he got what he needs and he lost one of his eyes.
Amir is feeling guilty but can not turn the time back; he suffered a lot about what he did to Hassan.
