In the book kite runner, the protagonist Amir grew up with his loyal servant Hassan when they were kids. They always got together, because Amir has little friend. Hassan was very brave especially when Amir got troubles. However, Amir was cowardly, he couldn’t protect Hassan, even he couldn’t stand up for himself. After the kite runner competition, Hassan met Assef who always conflict with Amir and Hassan, and Assef did harmful thing to Hassan, but Amir didn’t stand out for Hassan. After that, the relationship between Amir and Hassan got worse, and Hassan left the home. Then the war in Afghanistan break out, Amir with his father escaped to America. Their new lifes started, they were so busy to fit the new living style. However, Amir never forgot Hassan, because he what he did to Hassan was too terrible. He went back to his country because of his uncle after he got married. His uncle told a lot of thing to him including Hassan’s death, Hassan’s real identity and the difficulty of Hassan’s son. At that time, although Amir was still ambivalent, he decided to stand out for Hassan’s son and pay for his sin.
The novel kite runner written by Hosseini and it was very famous in United States. The people in that book were described very clearly and deeply. In addition, the most outstanding areas in the novel are dialogue and emotional description. The dialogues are easy to understand, and it sometimes very interesting, the emotional description made readers think over as well. Every scenes are very vivid that I could almost see these in my mind. Moreover, for an international student, I learnt numerous new vocabularies through kite runner, and it made me remember easier because of the attractive content.
