On the page 298, Amir said to Fraid that we both got what we deserved. It means that both Amir and Assef got what they want. Amir went to Assef’s house in order to save Hassan’s son, because he want to atone expiate at the same time. For Assef, he hated Amir, but he couldn’t hurt Amir at that time, so he hurt Hassan and Hassan’s son to make he feel comfortable.
However, I don’t agree that both of them got what they deserved. Undoubtedly, Amir got he want because he saved Hassan’s son, but it doesn’t means that Assef got what he wanted. He is an unreasonable person and he want to revenge Amir more than what he did. So I could predict that he will do others thing to Amir for retaliate.

I think Assef also got he wanted. Yes,he wanted to revenge Amir and he did. Amir almost died under his prided stainless-steel brass knuckles. And he really enjoyed those punches, kicks and scratches. Before the thin voice came out, Assef was getting satisfied and tired.
