Kite Runner

I think Amir’s meaning by this response is just like he said that he and Assef did some bad thing in the past, now they got their punishments.
I agree with that they all got they deserved. For Amir, in the past, he did not protect Hassan because he was cowardly and he wanted to sacrifice Hassan to got Baba’s attention. This time he protect Hassan’s son and was injured. This is Amir’s castigate. For Assef, he did something really bad for Hassan and now he also insulted Sohrab. Now, Assef lost his one eye by Sohrab. He also got what he deserved.

  1. I agree with you. Amir and Assef got injured. The injury deserved on their behavior they did before, though Assef didn't realize his guilt.

  2. I agree with you, too. Amir means he and Assef both got the punishment for their guilt. His is due to Hassan and Assef's is what he did to Hassan and those poor people.
