Literary Analysis of the Kite Runner

The Kite Runner, the author relates a story about a boy comes from a rich family, Amir, and his servant’s son, Hassan. This story started in 1975, in Afghanistan. Amir is a boy who is cowardly and selfish. He doesn’t have any friend except Hassan. But in his mind, Hassan just is servant. For Hassan, he can do every thing for Amir, even sacrifice his life. Every time when Amir gets into a trouble, although Hassan also afraid, he will still protect Amir. It likes the sentence in the book, “For you, a thousand times over.” In Hassan’s mind, Amir is the first one, but Amir sacrifices Hassan to get Baba’ love. At last, although the relationship between Amir and Baba changes better, he lost Hassan. Then the war start, Amir and Baba leaves Afghanistan and go to United States. By the time Amir grows up, the relationship between them become better and better, and he get married with a girl. Life is well, but he feels more and guiltier for the past. Until one day, Amir gets a call from Rahim Khan, also it is from the past of his sins. Rahim Khan says, “There is a way to be good again.” This time, Amir does not flinch, he choose to face his past, to face his crimes.
I like this book. It talks about how the people struggled between the humanity and crime. It’s not only a story, it also teaches people something. What is the most important in our lives? Should we sacrifice others to get what we want? And everyone should atone for their crimes. I really get some useful information form it. Different people will get different feel after read this story. It is a book that you should read it.
